on our latest excursion into the Jemez mountains when the Spring we were going to was inaccessible because the road to it was closed.  At this point we had no idea where to go because all the forest roads are closed so we ask a local

and he sent us to McCally Warm Springs. The following photos are the result....

Always Winning With Sarah Dinning...

When I was about ten years old I moved into a house next door to a girl named Sarah Dinning, and across the street

from a boy named Mitchell Bent.  13 years later the boy across the street is my best friend and the girl next door has grown up into a beautiful young adult.  I recently had a chance to spend an entire Saturday with my old next door neighbor and it was an amazing adventure into the downtown of Albuquerque.  A key fact to remember about this photographic adventure is that the wind was blowing about 40 mph and we were almost picked up and blown away in the process.  Luckily gravity came to our aid.  The result of my day with this 19 yr old Journalism major, was a lot of conversation about what was "REALLY COOOL" and a warm pot of English Breakfast tea to brighten the dusty day.  All i can say is that Sarah was a trooper braving those winds for the arts, and her effort is much appreciated.

A look from one of her eyes is all it takes.  But you can't get away with just one look because now the intrigue of that one eye has you staring.  Before you know it your photographing her.  Her name is Ladan Dayyani.  The plate that Ladan carries around on an average day is more jam packed and complicated than most people could comprehend.  If it's not organic chemistry, she is at dance, and if its not dance she is busy being the Director Of Elections for ASUNM...and she is only a Sophomore.  Did I mention she speaks fluent Farsi and has a quite convincing British accent? Don't be fooled she isn't from Britain.  When it comes to her culture she is a very passionate person in fact just recently celebrating the Iranian New Year.  She is working on her undergraduate degree at UNM in Pharmacy and works in the hospital as well.  But don't let all the academics and work fool you, she loves her DJ'S and loves to dance.  Look out Tiesto Here she comes!
